Goods Suspected of Intellectual Property Infringement Seized in Kakavija

The Customs Administration continues its controls within the framework of combating informality and protecting intellectual property rights.

During a physical inspection carried out at the Kakavija Customs Branch, customs structures, in cooperation with Anti-Smuggling units, identified and seized approximately 1,500 pairs of sneakers suspected of infringing the New Balance trademark.

The goods were identified during the inspection of a transport vehicle declared under the transit regime. Verification showed that the rest of the cargo was in compliance with the customs declaration, while the suspected products were seized for further verification procedures.

As part of the procedure, the vehicle has been placed in customs parking and is under monitoring by the relevant authorities until the completion of administrative investigations.

The General Directorate of Customs remains committed to strengthening controls, ensuring fair competition, and enforcing the applicable legislation in the field of trade and intellectual property rights.
