Tirana, 07.04.2026 – The Director General of Customs, Besmir Beja, held a meeting today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Tirana, Reinout Vos, within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation and deepening economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties assessed the very good level of cooperation between Albania and the Netherlands, particularly in trade exchanges, and emphasized the important role of the Customs Administration in facilitating legitimate trade, increasing transparency, and creating a favorable climate for foreign investments.
The Director General confirmed the institution’s commitment to intensifying cooperation with Dutch businesses operating in Albania by providing institutional support, more efficient procedures, and more direct communication with the business community.
Ambassador Vos, for his part, appreciated the efforts of the Albanian Customs Administration towards modernization and service improvement, expressing the Netherlands’ readiness to continue technical support and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In continuation of the discussions, the Director General highlighted the continuous support of the Netherlands in Albania’s European integration process, considering it an important factor in advancing reforms and aligning with EU standards.
