EXBS trains the Customs Officers of Rinas Airport Customs House

The Albanian Customs Administration aims, in addition to its border protection mission and the elimination of trafficking and smuggling, to improve its staff professionally. Thus, within the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program, a group of Customs Officers of the Rinas Airport Customs House participated in the International Training Course at Houston International Airport, Texas, on 5 - 9 of March.

During this training, the Albanian Customs Officers were introduced to the work and mission of Customs and Border Protection in US territory and the daily work done at Houston Airport. The topics of the training covered the fight against narcotics, cash flow over the allowed limit, smuggled goods, unauthorized food and agricultural products, illegal entry of persons and goods in USA, as well as the identification of persons with criminal and terrorist connections, etc.

This training took place following the donation of the scanner for luggage and baggage at Rinas Customs House. EXBS Program has contributed to the representation of the Customs Service in international activities (international conferences and regional and international training activities) with aiming the control dual-use goods, including in particular the control of radioactive substances and it has organized different trainings for the Customs staff.
