The SELEC (SOUTHEAST EUROPEAN LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER) objective is to provide support to member states in order to improve coordination in prevention of crime and the fight against crime, including serious and organized crime, especially in such cases where these crimes include elements of cross-border activities.
SELEC Member States are: Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, Macedonia, Republic of Greece, Hungary, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Republic of Serbia and Republic of Turkey.
The benefit of Member States, as well as the partners of SELEC Center is the ability to handle multinational investigations and operations in the SEE Region. The highest authority of the SELEC Center is the SELEC Council which is composed of one representative from each Member State.
In addition to the Member of the Council, the General Directorate of Customs is represented in SELEC by a Contact Officer.
Albania is apreciated for the good support and cooperation in the joint fight against cross-border crime and has been actively involved mainly in the framework of the 8 Task Forces dealing with the main crime areas in the region.
