Role of the Customs Laboratory

Tariff Measure:

The Customs Laboratory shall carry out analyzes of the analytical parameters necessary for the determination and verification of the tariff classification of goods in accordance with the Combined Nomenclature of Goods and the Harmonized System.

National Measures:

The role of the Customs Laboratory is to support national measures and regulations by providing information on the composition and nature of goods to maximize collection of indirect taxes (excise, rent, VAT etc.), especially for hydrocarbon products and alcoholic beverages which are goods that occupy an important place in Laboratory activity.

Measures related to restrictions on the movement of goods:

The Customs Laboratory acts as an authority which with its activity combats the illegal smuggling and trafficking of goods.

Trade Measures:

The activity of the laboratory for the verification of goods is also related to anti-dumping measures, suspensions.
