Integrated Tariff Management System (ITMS)

Program IPA 2013: Twinning Project “Alignment of Customs Legislation and Procedures related to Tariff with the EU Acquis” Total amount: 1.8 Million EUR; Duration: 2 Years

Currents status:

Albanian Customs Administration intends to assess the fulfillment of conditions on interoperability and interconnectivity with the EU IT systems. The National Tariff system should be compatible with EU TARIC and it has to be operational before Albania's EU Accession.

The Twinning Project will introduce a fully IT system compatible with the EU system regarding ITMS. Through this Project, it will be drafted the new legislation, manuals and guidelines in accordance with EU standards on Tariff as well as the relevant trainings.

The General Directorate of Customs in cooperation with the EU Delegation and DG TAXUD has prepared the Project Fiche and it has already completed the process of proposal assessment and soon EU Delegation will sign the Contract with the winning party, Italian Customs Administration. The implementation of the Project started on March 2017.
