The General Directorate of Customs has signed a series of bilateral agreements with other countries considering the fact that actions taken against customs violations can be more effective through close cooperation between customs administrations in accordance with similar international conventions on encouraging the mutual assistance as well as the recommendations of the World Customs Organization.
Based on Bilateral Agreements, the Contracting Parties shall, through their Customs Administrations, provide mutual administrative assistance with the terms and conditions laid down in these Agreements with regard to the proper implementation of customs legislation and the prevention, detection and fight against customs violations. All assistance under this Agreements is provided in accordance with the national legislation, administrative provisions and within the limits of the competencies of the Customs Administration and the resources at their disposal.
