Facilitations & Exemptions > New Computerized Transit System (NCTS P5) >
The New Computerized Transit System (NCTS P5) is a European electronic system for managing the customs transit procedure. The system is used by the Member States of the European Union and by countries that are parties to the Common Transit Convention. With the implementation of this system, Albania will soon become a candidate country for accession to the Common Transit Convention (CTC). This project, supported by the World Bank, commenced in March 2020.
NCTS enables the movement of goods under the transit procedure through a fully electronic platform, reducing physical documentation and manual interventions.
Version P5 has been developed in full compliance with the requirements of the Union Customs Code (UCC) and represents a new standard in customs data exchange, security, and traceability of operations, while allowing the possibility of upgrades to more advanced versions in accordance with European Union requirements.
