Security at the border is one of the most complex and critical security challenges that Governments face today. It is complex because the different terrains, topography and natural elements are a technological and logistical challenge for the Governments monitoring approach.
Since it enables the entry and exit of people and goods, the border remains critical to the prosperity of the countries. Border monitoring improvements have shown that they can provide sensible benefits to the states, not only to increase the level of security, but also by creating a more friendly trade environment through increasing of customs revenues, strengthening the state's economy.
Currently the scanning process is carried out at the Customs Houses of Kapshtica, Kakavija, Morina, Durrës and Qafë Thanë.
